Chase Recap:

It seemed feasible that Saturday the 18th could be a tornado day up in Northern Oklahoma. Linear modes were likely but if we got on something early, we might be able to see a brief tube.

Heading to Alva

In early afternoon we departed Norman and started heading towards Northern Oklahoma. We eventually stopped and hung out in Alva before heading southwest on a storm as it fired. I tried to find some hail with some transects, but didn’t find any. Staying ahead of the storm, we eventually got to witness an incredible shelf cloud.

I spent the next hour finding different foregrounds for the shelf cloud. When we neared Carrier, we decided to head back to Norman.
