Tire issues/distractions
I started the day filling my tire up in Dodge City. After the crazy day before, I had 2 tires with holes in them. I was able to put the spare on and keep pressure in the other with a tire pump. I had to drive to Wichita/Derby to get them fixed. I hadn’t really thought much of chasing that day, as the SPC test was negative. That is, I looked at the SPC site, saw the 2%, and figured I had time to get this tire fixed.
Southern Boundary
Around 4pm, Jari and I were devouring burritos in Chipotle next to Discount Tire. While looking over data, we realized this would be a chase day. Fortunately, we had some stout updrafts around us and it felt thick outside. It looked like there were 2 boundaries to play, one near Wichita in a SW/NE fashion, more E/W than N/S. The one up north was further away and in a due East/West pattern.
Like an idiot I kept believing in the southern boundary and busted.
Structure in Northern Oklahoma
Anyway, we took the consolation prize at dusk in Northern Oklahoma. The lightning was alright and the structure was good.
