Chase Recap:
I didn’t have high hopes for this chase day when I left. I was severely jet-lagged from Germany. I left early in the afternoon from Norman and headed west on I-40. Stopped for gas in Elk City then headed west towards Pampa and then southwest near Panhandle.
First storm of the day
The first storm of the day was near Borger. With a garbage road network in that part of the panhandle, I had to just let it go.
So I headed back south towards Pampa and then to I-40 where I was able to get in front of the line of storms. The sun was going down so we opted to try some lightning photos.

Heading Home
We ended the night in Shamrock at the Dairy Queen, when another storm popped to our southwest and was showing some significant hail on GR3. So I attempted to position in front of it, but it started dying off. I decided to head back to Norman at that point.
